Non-Immigrant Employment Visas

Many traders and investors come to the United States to start a business.  The E1/E2 visa allows them to work in the United States in their own companies and allows them to bring in other essential employees from their country.  Professionals such as Engineers, Computer Programmers, Accountant, Lawyers and Doctors as well as many managers, can come to the United States with an H1b visa, petitioned for by their new employer. L1 visas are for those foreign workers who have worked for the same or their new employer.  L-1 visas are for those foreign workers who have worked for the same or an affiliated company overseas and the company desires to transfer them to the United States to work for a specific period of time.  These are all Nonimmigrant visas which allow a United States company to take advantage of the world wide talent pool to bring the best employees from overseas to work in the United States for a temporary period of time.  This presentation summarizes the basic requirements for E, L & H1b visas.
